Kingsport City Schools to Hold City-Wide 2012-13 Registration Blitz
Kingsport – Kingsport City Schools will hold a city-wide event on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, to help parents register their children for kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year. KCS representatives will also be on hand throughout the community to register rising 1st through 12th grade students new to the system.
Registration sites will be open at eight locations across Kingsport. All sites will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Parents may register their child at any location, regardless of the school the child is zoned to attend.
Registration sites include:
· WalMart (2500 West Stone Dr.)
· Cloud Apartments Office (1100 Robertson St.)
· Lee Apartments Family Resource Center (Apt. #4)
· Riverview Boys & Girls Club (301 Louis St.)
· Food City Eastman Road (1205 North Eastman Rd.)
· Kingsport Boys and Girls Club (1 Positive Place)
· McDonald’s Lynn Garden (1501 Lynn Garden Dr.)
· Dogwood Terrace Community Room (1921 Bowater Dr.)
Parents wishing to register a child will need to bring proof of current residency (rent receipt, utility bill, mortgage payment slip). Other materials required prior to the start of school include the child’s certified birth certificate (Mother’s Copy not accepted), proof of a physical within the last 12 months, a Tennessee immunization form, and the child’s Social Security card.
